For this 1st ORI TAHITI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, 17 female dancers came from France, Switzerland, Japan, Mexico, de Hawaii, United States and Tahiti to participate to this dance competition. A contest organized by the association ORI TAHITI NUI created by Tumata Robinson and Manouche Lehartel. Melanie Amen from California is the winner of this 1st Ori Tahiti World Championship but all the other dancers also danced very well.
For this competition the dancers had to dance an ‘Aparima’ and also an ‘Ote’a’ in front of the jury and the public.
