As of today, the word has been said : The Heiva i Tahiti will not happen in 2021. In fact, the sanitary crises has had a huge impact both economically and culturally, and not only has it affected our main island of Tahiti, it also affected the surrounding lands. If you have experienced the Heiva once in your life, truth is, you know the effervescence it triggers and how bubbly local people get; Just imagine the numbness such a cancellation can cause when the Heiva I Tahit was supposed to celebrate its 140 birthday anniversary this year!
For this reason, the Ori Tahiti troupes along with the ministries have come to replace mighty Heiva with a Cultural Festival. The event is to take place mid-year, and will not be competition. The event is a way for us to stay culturally involved and maintain the magic, while staying safe during Covid times. Terms are still being discussed and we’re eagerly waiting on the main program, and be sure, we will let you know as soon as the time comes.
We love energy filled crowds, we love to feel our ancestral mana flowing the milkyway night sky during the Heiva celebration, but this is going to be postponed for now. Instead, we are very proud to be able to share our beautiful culture with you all, not matter where you are from. For a step by step program, in your language, please check out our online courses of Ori Tahiti today, and follow us to stay updated on all Ori Tahiti events.
