The unique show of the musical comedy E RUA HERE have been performed in tahitian language (Reo Tahiti). This project led by the students from Tahiti and New Zealand was a way to “materialize” and to bring their culture together. This event was a resounding success.
E RUA HERE was held at the Grand Theater of Tahiti. The students from the University of French Polynesia but also of Waikato in NZ have ripen this project for a year.
Taoahere MAONO who’s at the initiative of the project tells that: “Next to the dance and the art performance there is this spirit of encounter. This is the primary goal of this show. It’s to invite our Maori cousin to join us on the scene, to live and show how we live our culture”
The show is only based on Tahitian language (Ma’ohi) and Maori language. And even outside of the scene, the students wanted to speak their island language. A challenge bet by these lovers of culture.
In February the students of the University of French Polynesia will go to NZ.
