The 56th Annual Merrie Monarch Festival took place on April 21–27, 2019 at the Grand Naniloa and Hilo Hawaiian hotels on Banyan Drive in Hawaii.
This event is a non-profit organization that honors the legacy of King David Kalākaua, who inspired the perpetuation of hawaiian traditions, native language and arts.
It features a hula competition, an invitational Hawaiian arts fair, hula shows, and a grand parade through Hilo town.
