The second edition of the Heiva International is taking place this week with the Ori Tahiti World Cup in To’ata on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th April.
Since a few days, dancers and musicians are coming from all over the world (United States, Mexico, Japan) to compete with the Polynesians.
For its second edition, the Heiva International welcomes ten times more participants than two years ago, announces Matani Kainuku, the leader of the Nonahere group and organizer of the event. For him, this is an opportunity to harmonize the practice between all the artists and for them to “reappropriate the culture, history and evolution of the ori Tahiti dance.”
The famous Te Vaka Polynesian band will perform on both evenings.
