Miss Tahiti is an annual beauty contest with girls from all over French Polynesia. It is qualifying for the Miss France election. It is an event followed by the entire population, with a first gala evening and then an election night during which all the supporters of the candidates come with banners, signs with the effigy of their candidate. Many criteria are taken into consideration during this election, in addition to beauty, the Miss will have to wear the colors of Polynesia, its culture and its traditions.
