When Ori Tahiti meets charity: the Orapu Festival 2019.
In order to raise funds for the construction of a shelter for the homeless in Tahiti, Father Christophe – officiating priest of the cathedral of Papeete – has organized a day dedicated to tahitian dance.
Taking place in the gardens of the Assemblée de Polynésie française on October the 5th, 2019 the event has gathered more than a hundred of Ori Tahiti dancers from nine different dancing schools.
Four workshops for four traditionnal dancing moves : fa’arapu, fa’arori, ueue, ami (tumami).
And in the afternoon, a dozen of dancers made a beautiful painting with their footprints while dancing on a white cloth.
A colourful day for a worthy cause.
