Te aroha Māmāiā
Every saturdays of the month of July, the show “Te aroha Māmāiā” take place at the “Marae Arahurahu” Paea.
During this representation, a hundred artists from the group TOAKURA share with the public big emotions and they bring us to another era.
The story dates back to the 19th century when the “mamaia” defenders of the Polynesian cults and traditional arts, were constrained to take refuge in a valley to practice their activities because of the opposition of the new order established by the Protestant missionaries.
