Saturday, October 18, 5:30 p.m. a crowd of people is gathered around the paepae hiro at the cultural center Te Fare Tauhiti Nui. Every year since 2011, the Pina’ina’i re-opens a door between the inter dimensional scenic literature and art , attracting more and more people. The show is free, an opportunity to meet personalities from culture and politics, passionates , curious , authors , dancers but also families from many enjoy an evening of fun and to intellectual both . Almost 6 p.m, everyone gets busy: At the control booth, backstage, at the cameras, technicians, cameramen , photographers , dancers , performers, everyone is active as on the eve of a great show. It is under the banyan tree sacred Polynesian illuminated for the occasion of all colors and now legendary scene that will play in turn the performance of the show.
A fantastic evening where ” Aboriginal literature takes a different scale to the echoes of other writers , to echo the readers, the echo of the music, the echo of the dance, the echo of the body” recalls Moana’ura Tehei’ura member of the Littérama’ohi association and coordinator of the event.
This harmonious combination allies literature, music and traditional dance, making the Pina’ina’i a cultural UFO, an invitation to sharing and expression. We get excited, we get shocked , we laugh, we cry and then we applause. We applause the trip, the creative genius and autochthony in all its splendor. With a growing success thank’s to high-quality texts and performances, the Pina’ina’i rose to the level of annual “must” appointments of Polynesian culture.
