Heiva Taure’a is a traditional dancing and singing competition for young people age from 11 to 15 years old. The youth represents their school establishment and they perform.This contest is a way to connect teenagers with their roots and live their culture through traditional art.
This event took place at To’ata place and gathered 9 academies : Hitia’a, Maco Tevane, Paea, Papara, Bora Bora, Taravao, Mahina, Makemo and Raiatea.
The jury was composed by professional such as :
𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗶 𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗔 (Jury President) : ‘Ori i Tahiti’s hroup leader and A ‘Ori Mai’s dance school director.
𝗘𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝗨𝗨𝗥𝗔 : ‘Ori Tahiti’s teacher at at the Artistic Conservatory of French Polynesia
𝗧𝗼𝗻𝘆𝗼 𝗧𝗢𝗢𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗨 : Professor of Tahitian at the University of French Polynesia, author and dancer at Heiva i Tahiti
𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘-𝗗𝗘𝗭𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗘 : Generalist educational advisor in the district of Papeete-Pirae, head of the Hei Tahiti group and director of the Hei Tahiti training center

𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗨𝗔 : Head of the Teva i Tai Group and Head of the Hei ‘ori School
